Your recognition sidekick

Meet Lori.

Lori is the little penguin in your Valori workspace. He watches your team’s real recognition data and taps you when someone deserves a thank-you: a birthday, a work anniversary, a teammate who’s gone quiet, or a streak about to slip.

01Birthdays & work anniversaries

He remembers the dates, so you don’t miss the moment.

Lori looks two weeks ahead at the birthdays and start dates people add to their profiles. When one is close, he leaves a note with a Recognize button that opens the composer with that teammate and a first line already filled in. On the day itself, he flies by to celebrate.

What he notices
Birthdays and work anniversaries in the next 14 days, including today.
Who sees it
Everyone on the team. Nobody is reminded about their own birthday.
One tap
Recognize opens the composer, prefilled with their name and a first line.

02Teammates who’ve gone quiet

A quiet heads-up for managers, never a public call-out.

Some of the best work happens out of sight. For managers and admins, Lori counts the active teammates who haven’t been recognized in the last 30 days and links straight to Insights, where each one has a Recognize button. He shares a number, never a name, and only with the people who lead the team.

What he notices
Active teammates with no recognition in 30 days.
Who sees it
Managers and admins only. Members never see it.

03A streak about to break

One nudge before your streak slips. Never a nag.

Recognizing someone each week builds a streak. If yours is still going and you haven’t recognized anyone by Thursday, Lori asks the only question that matters: who made your week easier? Thirty seconds keeps it alive. If you’re on PTO, or the streak has already ended, he stays quiet.

What he notices
A live weekly streak with nothing given this week, from Thursday on.
Who sees it
Only you, about your own streak.
One tap
Recognize opens the composer so you can thank someone right away.

How he shows up

Beside your work, not in the way.

Lori lives at the bottom of the sidebar. Most of the time he simply rests there. When there’s something worth your attention, he writes one short note with one button, then gets out of the way.

  • One note a day, at most

He picks the most useful moment, and never repeats the same note within a week.

  • Only your team’s real data

Dates people added and recognition that happened. No AI guesses, no calendar or inbox access.

  • Hide him anytime

Tap the X to put him away, and bring him back in Settings whenever you like.

  • Calm by default

He rests on a still pose and waves once when you arrive. With reduced motion on, you get the note without the animation.

  • On every screen

In the sidebar on desktop, and as a small note above the navigation on your phone.

  • Recognition, not pressure

He never ranks people or calls anyone out. Every note ends with a way to say thanks.
